There are a wide range of fitness and exercises in Chinese medicine. Although they are more commonly referred to as Kung Fu, however fitness and exercise in Chinese medicine are divided into two parts. Action and meditation. Action based exercises refers to the movement of the body and form of the movement, such as Tai Chi, Kung Fu, running, swimming etc. In Chinese fitness and exercise, the emotional mindset plays a big part in the execution of the exercises. There is the mindset of the person practicing the exercises and this person's own emotional expressions through his or her body movement. In a way Chinese fitness are very much like the performing arts but with a philosophical background. Meditation exercises relies on ones consciousness on breathing and self-control to carry out the movements. Fitness and exercise play an important factor in self-healing, they increase our bodies metabolism, blood circulation, improve our cardio health, build and shape stronger muscles and increase longevity.
